East Meadow, NYWhen the Beatles went
their separate ways in 1970, the hearts of
millions of music fans across the world were
broken. Be then the Fab Four hadn’t toured in
what seemed like ages and as the years past
following their breakup, fingers were
perpetually crossed in the hopes that John,
Paul, George and Ringo would reunite in front of
a live crowd.
That, of course, never happened.
But last Friday at the East Meadow Public
Library it sure seemed like it did, even if just
for a little while.
Four Beatles-crazy musicians who call themselves
The DayTrippers rocked a crowed with such
classics as “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Hey
Jude,” “She Loves You” and “Yellow Submarine.”
The quartet is one of the better known Beatles
tribute bands. The Herald stopped by to snap
some photos and listen to the tunes of the
greatest rock n’roll band of all time.
